Google gives tips to save the planet on the Earth Day

Even though officially the Earth Day is celebrated on the 22nd of April, Google decided to post their doodle dedicated to the Earth Day a bit earlier. Probably they just wanted their message to reach more people.
The company has pushed their special celebration logo a day earlier in a form of a slide show, where there were animated pictures very similar to illustrations from a book for kids. The pictures were designed to tell the users a story about a little fox. The animal was dreaming of a planet which wouldn't be so damaged, polluted and seriously influenced by the changes in climate, caused by all kinds of harmful human activities. The fox manages to do little changes by itself step by step in order to save the planet, while making friends on its way. So by the end of the illustrative story, all they joined the initiative of the Fox aimed at protecting the nature and all the environment on the planet, while making the Earth a better place to live.
The slide show appeared to be very interactive and informative, easy to understand not only by adults, but by kids as well. The adventures of the Fox are actually a list of tips for people all over the globe to save our planet. The idea was so successful that a great number of users from different countries shared it on various home pages and websites.



Google on the importance of page's linking

A month ago Gary Illyes said that you can rank your website without links, as long as Google considers first and foremost the content of the site and it can find your site anyway, although most of webmasters know quite well that linking is important if you want to have a competitive site. In terms of that statement Gary was asked later if there was a possibility not to use linking if to aim at a medium competitive site, and the answer was positive. However, that could mean that it was possible, but would it be beneficial for the site owners and webmasters?
